Brent Jeremy Scott, 50, of Hoxie, died Saturday, September 19, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born May 27, 1970, in Walnut Ridge, to Dewey Scott and Shirley Wicker Scott. He was a loving son and friend. He had a passion for radio broadcasting and began his career at 16 years of age working with KRLW. He worked for East Arkansas Broadcasters for many years before retiring. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Black Rock.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Scott; brother, Allen Scott; aunts, Wanda Black, Nadine Murphy and Dorothy Wicker; and uncles, Zamie Scott Jr., J.C. Wicker and Harold Stowers.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Wicker Scott of Hoxie; nieces, Amber Scott of Branson, Mo., and Robin Scott of Paragould; sister-in-law, Denise Hand; aunts, Barbara Lamb and Lelia Stowers; uncles, Tom Lamb, Larry Black and Jim Murphy; and many other friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 18, from 2-3 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Memorial services will follow at 3 in the chapel with his uncle, Tom Lamb, officiating.

As per CDC guidelines and specific request from the family, masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed at all times.
