Curtis Dewayne Thomas, 58, of Jonesboro, passed away Jan. 21, 2021, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born Nov. 1, 1962, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of the late Doyle and Louise Dixson Lacefield. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Vowell on March 10, 1984. He worked in several different factories, including Nicepak, Sun Industries, Riceland Foods, 22 years at International Paper and Great Dane in Jonesboro. Curtis was an active member of the Assembly of God Church. He was also an Eagle Scout as a youngster and a very cheerful person. Curtis would mentor to troubled children at times, no matter the situation or issue. He was a great husband and wonderful father.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Douglas Sheets; and a brother, Leslie Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home; one son, Eric D. Thomas of Jonesboro; one daughter, Tiffany M. Thomas of Jonesboro; one sister, Ruby (Alvin) McIntire of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside service is today, Jan. 27, at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Anthony Timms and James Moore officiating. Bryan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

The family requests that facemasks and social distancing be practiced at the service.
