Denton M. Penn, Jr., 77, of Green Valley, Ill., died Sept. 21, 2020, in Peoria, Ill.

He was born Sept. 22, 1942, at Denton, to Denton M. and Thelma Lea (Lawrence) Penn Sr. Denton worked for Caterpillar, Inc., for 38 years, and also farmed. Denton was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah S. Huskey Penn, whom he married June 17, 1962, in Saffell; three children, Courtney (Vickie) Penn of Kirkwood, Ill., Bart (Mary) Penn of Washington, Ill., and Christi (Mike) Ringel of Pekin, Ill.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Sandra) Penn and Mart Lee (Susan) Penn, both of Smithville.

Masonic rites were held Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin, Ill., with the funeral immediately following. Burial was in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
