E.W. “Red” Rooker, 89 of O’Kean, died Sunday, March 7, 2021, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

He was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Evening Star, to E.R. Rooker and Willie Coe Rooker. He was a retired farmer and trucker. He was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.R. and Willie; daughter, Sharon Parten; son, Ronnie Rooker; brother, Claudie Rooker; and a great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Rooker, of the home; sons, Don Rooker of Gulfport, Miss., and Gary (Linda) Rooker of O’Kean; six grandchildren, Tosh (Eddie) Swift of Pocahontas, Craig (Mandy) Parten of Metairie, La., Jamie (Josh) Miller of Oak Grove, Christen (Josh) Agee of Paragould, Alisha (Jon) Herron of Oak Grove, and Ashley (Dustin) Betts of South Haven, Miss.; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other friends.

Visitation is today, March 10, from 10-11:30 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould with Everett Hart officiating.
