Eva Lorene Dixon Evans, 84, of Hoxie, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at Lawrence Hall Health and Rehab in Walnut Ridge.

She was born March 5, 1936, in Brayden, Okla., to Robert Dixon and Cora Reeves Dixon. She married the love of her life, Jessie Evans, in 1952 (Dec. 1982). She was a loving wife and mother. Her family was everything to her and she enjoyed her 28 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cora; husband, Jessie Evans; brothers, Eddie, Charles, L.D. and Jessie Dixon; and sisters, Rose Simpson, Louise Sheets, Bonnie Bamboa and Mary Vassar.

She is survived by daughters, Shirley Reese of Humphrey, Diann Simmons of Hoxie, Wanda Harrison of Hoxie, Sallie Dawson of Lawson, Okla., Pollie (Tommy) Wilson of Bono, and Annia (James) Rodney; sons, Jackie (Melissa) Evans of Walnut, Miss., Lewis (Kathi) Evans of Hoxie; brother, Larry Dixon; sister, Barbara Allen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 21, from 3-4 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Graveside services began at 5 p.m. at Clark Cemetery, near Calvin’s Crossing, with Dan Murphy officiating.
