Alpha Gail Butts, 70, of Hoxie, passed away Sept. 29, 2020, at Harris Hospital in Newport.

Born May 21, 1950, in Pocahontas, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred Thatcher Gray. Gail was a dietician, working for St Bernards Behavioral Health in Jonesboro. She loved to cook, go shopping and go to yard sales, but most of all she loved her family and grandbabies.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior Lee Butts, in 2012; a sister, Beth Gray; and three brothers, Jim, Bobby and Billy Joe Krepps.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Bobbitt of Harrisburg, Cindy (Ron) Brand and Angie (Mike) Bennett, all of Jonesboro; three sons, John Butts of Jonesboro, Wayne Compton of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Robert Compton of Poughkeepsie; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane Cooper of Batesville; three brothers, Jack Krepps of Cave City, Gary Gray of Ravenden and Tommy Gray of Boonville; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 5, at 3p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home. Interment of her cremains will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-3 p.m.
