Leelonna Lynn Payne, 49, of Jonesboro, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.

She was born Nov. 22, 1970, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Howard Golden and Darlene Howell Golden.

Leelonna was a dedicated, full-time mom to her two sons, Tristan and Griffin Payne, both of Jonesboro. Just over three years ago, she became a Nonna and best friend to her only grandchild, Tsaban Howell Payne, of Jonesboro.

She was extremely passionate about worshiping and serving Jesus. She loved to volunteer in the community and work with kids. Leelonna became a “second mom” to many kids in Northwest Arkansas, where she raised her sons.

Survivors include her sons, Tristan and Griffin Payne; her grandson, Tsaban Payne; her sister, Meshayla Payne of Jonesboro; her brother, Brent Golden of Monroe, La.; two nieces, several cousins, and all her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation is today, Aug. 26, from 2-3 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 3, with Bro. David Kline officiating. Interment will follow in Whittaker Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blake James, Garrett Record, Jonathon Wood, Kris Grile, Greg Golden and Gaven Maxwell.

An online guestbook is available at www.bryanfh.com.
