Leon Hibbard, 92, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Monday, May 3, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Dec. 30, 1928, to William Nathaniel and Mattie Larimore Hibbard. Leon was a car salesman for many years and owned O’Kean Mercantile. He was of the Baptist belief. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a longtime member of the Army Reserves. He enjoyed family get-togethers and going to yard sales.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Sue Jones Hibbard, and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Randy Hibbard and Nathan Hibbard, both of Walnut Ridge; his daughter, Rhonda Bounds of Hardy; grandson, Chris Hibbard; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Haley and Conner.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 5, at 3 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Tim Campbell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers were Jordan Waldrupe, Jerry Jones, Nathan Hibbard, Chris Hibbard, Tommy Rice and Conner Hibbard.
