Mary Catheryn “Mert” Moskop, 78, of Walnut Ridge, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Sedgwick, to Charlie “Peanut” Owens and Mary Lena Veal Owens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She married J.B. Moskop on Oct. 20, 1960, in Sedgwick. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie “Peanut” and Mary Owens; husband, J.B. Moskop; sisters, Dolly (Raymond) Farmer, Eudora (James) Morris, Imogene Erwin and Virginia (Earl) Shelley; brothers, Kenneth Owens and Richard Owens; and grandson, Cody Rush.
She is survived by her son, Jeff (Melissa) Moskop of Sedgwick; daughter, Sherry (Tim) Clement of Paragould; brother, Louis Owens of Del Rio, Texas; sister-n-law, Frances Owens of Alabama and sister-in-law (more like a sister) Carrol Owens of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Tyler Franklin Clement of Little Rock, Alyssa McConnell of Jonesboro, Amanda Moskop and Alley Catheryn Moskop, both of Sedgwick, and grandson of the heart, Aaron Craig.
Graveside services were Saturday, Oct. 31, at Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick with Michael Doyle officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Frank Owens, Matt Shimisaki, Jacob Carter, Will Tietz, Dale Wright and Jeff Worlow.
