Melba (Smith) Taylor, 96, died Jan. 14, 2021 in St. Louis.

She was born July 10, 1924, in Black Rock, and graduated Black Rock High School in 1941.

She was preceded in death by father, Bryan, and mother, Nema Smith; husband, Hubert Taylor; brother, J. Bryan Smith; sisters, Joyce Webb and Dollye Davis; and stepsons, Jim (Marjie) and Larry Taylor.

Survivors include two grandsons, five great-granddaughters and four great-great-grandchildren, all of Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews, including a namesake great niece, Taylor Slavens.

A private memorial service will be held Jan. 30, 2021, at Fey Funeral Home in St. Louis. The body is to be cremated and interred at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
