Ronnie Eugene Culbertson, 78, of Walnut Ridge, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Wilmington, N.C., to Van Culbertson Sr. and Mildred Sluder Culbertson. He served his country in the Air Force before becoming an auto mechanic in Memphis. He and his wife, Mary Marie Shatsar Culbertson, moved to Walnut Ridge about 22 years ago. Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Sr. and Mildred Culbertson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Walnut Ridge; sons, Ronnie Eugene Culbertson Jr. (Delia) of Anderson S.C., Christopher (Denise) Culbertson of Florida, and Jack (Katrina) Shields; daughters, Belinda (Michael) Busch of Bono and Camilla Honda of Jonesboro; sisters, Judy Chapman and Sharon Wilsdon of Ashville, N.C.; brother, Van Culbertson Jr. of Ashville, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial was held Tuesday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Everett Hart officiating.

A private family burial will be held at Markham Cemetery at a later date.
