Ronnie E. Smith, 71, of Walnut Ridge, died Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

He was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Jonesboro, to James Horace Smith and Monnola Eunice Book Smith. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and friend. He was a mechanic for the Lawrence County Road Department and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Norma Jean Smith and Jo Ann (Boyce) Smithee; brothers, James Floyd Smith and Danny Ray Smith; and son, Michael Corey Smith.

He is survived by daughter, Kerrie (Ronnie) Hancock of Hoxie; brother, Herbert H. (Barbara) Smith of Walnut Ridge; sister, Sherry (Stanley) Corbett of Alicia; grandson, Garett Smith of Paragould; sister-in-law, Mildred Smith; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was Monday, Aug. 3, from 10-11 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. The funeral followed at 11 with Tim Campbell officiating. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Walcott under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
