Ruby Mary Powers, 96, of Hoxie, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Walnut Ridge.

Ruby was born Dec. 1, 1923, to William “Bill” and Lizzie White Bennett in Denton. She was a homemaker and a member of Bono Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eadison Raney; second husband, Homer Powers; a son, Earl Raney; a brother, Willis Bennett; and sisters, Elsie Bristow, Willene Scoggins and Geraldine Brannon.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley Lee (Jerry) of Bono, Barbara Brown (Ronnie), Pearline Kisling and Patsy Finney, all of Hoxie; brother, Willie Bennett of Hoxie; grandchildren, Steve and Lisa Simmons, Debra Lawson, Tammy and Jerry Lee, David, Ricky, Gary Hardin, Rhonda O’Conner, Chris, Rodney and Melinda Raney, Ricky and Kimberly Finny; several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 14, from 1-2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with the funeral service following at 2 with Harold Russell officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
