Shaun Lee Hopkins, 39, of Walnut Ridge, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at St Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born in Rockford, Ill., on June 26, 1981, to Jerry Hopkins and Terry Ann Smith Nelson. His maternal grandparents, Barbara and Herbert Smith, were very important people to him throughout his entire life. Shaun was married to Desirae Hopkins. He was a volunteer fireman with the Hoxie Fire Department and the Sedgwick Fire Department.

Shaun is survived by his wife, Desirae Earley Hopkins, of the home; his grandparents, Herbert and Barbara Smith, Walnut Ridge; his brother, Michael (Charity) Nelson, Paragould; uncle, Steve (Kim) Smith, Paragould; nieces, Madison Green and Hartley Nelson; nephews, Isaac and Trenton Nelson; a special cousin, Alex Smith, Jonesboro, and many family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hopkins; and his mother, Terry Ann Nelson.

Shaun’s visitation and funeral were held on Saturday, June 5, at House Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. The visitation was at noon and the funeral began at 2 p.m. with Gregg Cooper officiating.

Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge and Lynn.
