Terry Scott Davis, 53, of Newport, died Jan. 6, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born July 13, 1967, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Danny Davis and Wilma Whitmire Veteto. Terry was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and received the Purple Heart during his time in Panama. He was also a registered nurse for many years and a truck driver. He enjoyed watching Star Wars and fantasy shows. He collected knives and built model kits.

Survivors include his mother, Wilma Veteto of Newport; his father, Danny (Tammie Gray) Davis of Smithville; two daughters, Elyssa and Madison Davis, both of Walnut Ridge; one half-brother, Jason Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his fiancé, Carla Emery of Newport; the mother of his daughters, Mary Davis of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home.

Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. in Bryan Chapel with Mark Warnick officiating. Interment with military honors was at Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Mitch and Richard Whitmire, Alan and Wayne Freer, Wesley Gates and Patrick Hembrey.
