William Daniel “W.D.” Ward, 63, formerly of Hoxie, died June 18, 2021, in Jonesboro.

Born July 13, 1957, in Batesville, he was the son of J.O. and Lou Runyan Ward. He was of the Catholic faith and a truck driver by trade. W.D. enjoyed reading, watching old movies, listening to music, being outdoors and anything trucks. He loved laughing, joking and spending time with his brothers and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, J.O.; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a brother, Johnny Ward.

Survivors include his mother, Lou, formerly of Hoxie; his six siblings, Anna (Bill) Rice of Ravenden, James (Diane) Ward of Williford, Linda Church of Walnut Ridge, Betty (Roger) Hunt of Savannah, Tenn., Michael (Inez) Ward of Williford, and Tracy (Brian) Wallace of Atoka, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was Sunday, June 20, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Joe Ward officiating. Pallbearers were James, James Allen, Michael and Michael Ward II, and Brian, and Billy Rice. Interment was in Lawrence Memorial Park.
