The Hoxie Lady Mustangs volleyball teams traveled to Walnut Ridge on Monday to face the Lady Bobcats in the season’s first meeting between the 3A Northeast Conference rivals.

Hoxie won the senior high match in three sets, 25-16, 25-15, 25-10.

For Hoxie, Kailey Moody had 20 assists, three kills and served 16/16 with an ace. Chloe Prater had four kills and served 14/14 with an ace. Ellery Gillham recorded nine digs, seven kills, two blocks and served 12/12 with four aces.

Cara Forrester had nine assists, two digs, nine kills and served 13/13 with two aces. Mya Pinkston had seven digs and was 10/10 serving. Jaedyn Brown had 16 digs, six kills, a block and served 4/4, and Olivia Palmer had two assists, a dig, two kills and a block.

For the Lady Bobcats, Alexis Dalton had two kill and seven digs, and Brooke Brown had a dig. Emma Gipson had two kills and three digs. Gracey Collins had a kill, two blocks and nine digs. Kinley Davis had two aces, four assists and two digs. Marguerite Gill finished with two kills, a block and six digs. Melanie Jones had three kills and nine digs, and Ty Cook had one dig.

Junior high

Walnut Ridge won the junior high match in two sets, 25-19, 25-23. The victory boosted the junior Lady Bobcats to 4-0 in conference play and 5-1 overall.

For the junior Cats, Alli Bramlett had an ace, six kills and nine digs. Avery Anderson had five kills, an assist and four digs. Bailey Rorex had three aces and three digs. Karlee Broadway finished with three aces, a kill and eight digs. Maddie Burris contributed five kills, 10 assists and nine digs. Mallie Jean had a kill and nine digs, and Rhealyn Schmidt added a kill.

For Hoxie, Bailey Prater recorded four digs, three kills and served 7/7. Hannah Riggs had two assists, a dig, three kills and served 8/8. Blaze Lorren had three digs and was 6/6 serving, with an ace. Nadia Greer had three assists, a dig, a kill and served 11/11. Gracie Felton had seven digs and was 4/5 serving. Madison Wells was 2/2 serving, and Saydee Pratt had two digs.

The teams split a seventh-grade match.
