Hoxie’s undefeated season came to an end in the semifinals of the 3A State Volleyball Tournament last week in Little Rock. The Lady Mustangs fell to Paris in three sets, 17-25, 18-25, 23-25 on Thursday.

Hoxie reached the semifinals by defeating Central Arkansas Christian in the first round on Oct. 27, 25-13, 25-11, 25-16. In the quarterfinals, the Lady Mustangs defeated Charleston in a five-set thriller, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16, 21-25, 17-15.

Lady Mustangs Jaedyn Brown and Ellery Gillham were named to the All-State Tournament team. Hoxie’s final record is 21-1. They won the 3A-Northeast regular season and conference tournament titles.

Kailey Moody had 15 assists, two digs, three kills, a block and served 13/14 with an ace. Brown had 18 digs, two kills, three blocks and served 10/10 with an ace. Chloe Prater had eight digs, five kills and served 11/11 with an ace. Gillham had eight digs, four kills, two blocks and served 5/6 with an ace. Cara Forrester had 10 assists, a dig, five kills, a block and served 9/10. Mya Pinkston had five digs and served 7/7 with an ace, and Olivia Palmer had a dig, two kills and a block.

Charleston

Brown had 15 digs, 15 kills, eight blocks and served 27/27 with five aces. Moody had 35 assists, four digs, three kills, a block and served 13/13 with an ace. Gillham had 11 digs, 15 kills, six blocks and served 21/21. Prater had five digs, two kills and served 18/19. Forrester had 20 assists, four digs, seven kills, five blocks and served 13/13. Pinkston had four digs and served 15/15. Mykala Johnson had two kills, and Palmer had a kill.

CAC

Moody had 26 assists, five digs, seven kills, two blocks and served 13/13. Prater had two assists, five digs, four kills and served 18/18 with three aces. Gillham had 12 digs, 12 kills, a block and served 9/10 with two aces. Forrester had 23 assists, three digs, five kills and served 9/9. Brown had 18 digs, 12 kills, six blocks and served 10/10. Pinkston had four digs and served 7/7 with an ace, and Palmer had a kill.
